Reports from broadcast journalist Kofi Adomah state that the son of the suspect’s wife, who lives in Canada, made the decision to reduce his mother’s burden after she supported his schooling independently, among other things. In an attempt to give his mother financial security, the son founded a successful sachet water company for her after leaving the University of Ghana and going abroad, where he makes a solid living.
Nevertheless, the suspect, who had been married to the woman, had evil plans. Wanting to take over the company and financially ruin his stepson, he supposedly asked an acquaintance for help in locating a spiritualist who might damage someone who had harmed him without disclosing who the intended victims were.
The suspect was sent to a renowned spiritualist by a friend. The spiritualist went back to the friend who led the suspect to his shrine and told him about the suspect’s terrible intentions after finding out that he intended to hurt his wife, ruin her son’s business, and hurt him. The spiritualist and his companion decided it would be wise to report the potential threat to the authorities. After that, they worked with police enforcement to foil the evil plan.
The defendant is shown performing a ceremonial rite and calling on spirits to destroy his wife and stepson in a terrifying video that Kofi TV managed to obtain. He uses the spiritualist’s guidance to order his stepson and wife’s spirits to materialize in a pool of water so he can hurt them with a knife that the evil practitioner has given him.
Fortunately, before any damage could be done, the police intervened, following on an alert from the suspect’s friend and the spiritualist. While the offender was still performing his evil ritual, he was swiftly taken into custody. Since then, the matter has been taken before the courts, and the suspect is scheduled to go on trial.
The urgency of the issue shows how common it is for occult rituals to be linked with criminal purposes, which is why police are emphasizing the need for caution against such devious behavior. Ghanaians are taken aback by the level of betrayal displayed in the name of avarice and hatred as the legal processes develop.
